Vicky joined the practice at the beginning of 2020. She is a highly qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner that leads on acute care and care management for our care home patients.

Vicky is also a specialist respiratory nurse

Nurse Practitioners are highly trained staff able to prescribe, diagnose and refer. They are an essential complement to GPs. Patients presenting with a new problem are often first seen by the Nurse Practitioner who is able to resolve many issues or seek advice from a GP, specialist nurse or consultant.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner provide most of the on the day appointments, treating and prescribing for acute conditions.

Our Practice Nursing Team, including one Health Care Assistant, is available, by appointment, to carry out the following:

  • Minor ailments – sore throats, coughs, colds, rash, minor injuries
  • Family Planning – Contraceptive Injection, Contraceptive Pill
  • Removal of Stitches and Clips
  • Travel advice and Vaccinations
  • Injections and Vaccinations
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • Cervical Smears
  • Childhood Vaccinations
  • Dressings
  • Ear Syringing
  • New Patient Checks
  • Well Person Checks
  • Blood Pressure Checks
  • ECG

HCAs support the nursing team by carrying out a range of important routine tasks such as taking blood pressure, blood samples and ECGs. Through training programmes HCAs can also carry out life-style checks and basic chronic disease reviews.
